50 things
I was going to do 100, but that was too long to write (not to mention too long to read)
In no particular order...
1. I hate seafood and mushrooms. I have no sweet tooth to speak of (except maybe for cake).
2. I tell people that I'm more logical than creative, but maybe that's the scientist in me trying to assert itself.
3. I am a closet hippie.
4. I am a sarcastic pain in the butt.
5. I have been taught to be cynical, though I am not bitter.
6. At least not very bitter.
7. I believe in honesty at all costs, even if it gets me into trouble.
8. I don't mind TV, but I don't really watch it much.
9. I get nervous when I am in control of the remote, so I will give it to anyone else in the room.
10. I love to read, but don't have nearly as much chance as I would like.
11. I consider myself fiercely independent, but I love having someone around to lean on.
12. I know how to cook, I just can't be arsed.
13. My ex boyfriend (a chef) said that he could end any argument by offering to cook for me.
14. He cooked for me a lot.
15. I smile lots, and like to be around people that have infectious laughs.
16. I'm not a fan of the word,"cuddle."
17. Or the word, "snuggle"
18. The only food I ever truly crave is cheeseburgers, especially with bacon
19. I spent 3.5 months backpacking in Europe, and came back with an accent that most closely resembled Australian.
20. I love what I do.
21. Even thought it makes me want to rip my hair out in frustration.
22. A lot.
23. I am very good at giving the impression that I am not taking things seriously, even though I am.
24. I am also very good hiding my insecurities, so no one believes me when I say I'm afraid.
25. I consider cleaning the kitchen to be a zen activity. It gives me time to absorb.
26. The shower, on the other hand, is where I like to think.
27. Those two things are almost identical, yet somehow not.
28. I have spent my whole life trying to figure out how to play with microscopes and spend my summers on boats on the ocean.
29. At least I got the microscope part right.
30. I did spend a summer working in the Moray Firth with the bottlenose dolphins... but there were no microscopes.
31. People used to ask my grandfather if he was Cree because of his colouring. He wasn't.
32. I have his colouring, but people ask me if I'm Mediterranean. I'm not. I'm a Canadian of Scottish descent.
33. I don't consider myself 'the marrying type" though secretly I think would like to be.
34. My all time favorite job was bartending, and I constantly think about dropping everything and going back to it. Except for the microscopes.
35. I can constantly feel the pull of The East tugging at my soul. But my soul is the only part of my that has a plan to move back there someday.
36. I am both quick to open up to new people, and slow to trust them not to leave.
37. When I was little, I wanted to be a ballerina. Karen Kain was my idol. Then I got too tall.
38. I took up martial arts because it was a more practical from of dance.
39. I am vain, and have an inflated self image. In a nutshell, this means that I think I'm hot.
40. Sometimes I think my looks are my best quality, because my personality leaves much to be desired.
41. My mom tells me I'm difficult to live with. I think she's right.
42. I'm terrified that I'm not smart enough for what I'm trying to do right now.
43. I love my family and would do anything for them.
44. I used to smoke.
45. I miss my cat and my dogs, but I'm glad I don't have pets right now.
46. I am 30 years old, and have had bunions since I was 22
47. My grandmother had a full head of grey hair at my age... I consider myself lucky to have only a few.
48. I have been told more than once that I talk too much, but I try not to.
49. I am constantly afraid that I am, in essence, unlovable by anyone who isn't related to me.
50. I have yet to reach an age I didn't like.
